ART TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

The arts are crucial for living a full human life, because they develop and refine the physical and mental faculties. The primary activity in the arts is learning, because the arts offer a deep domain for improvement. When a person learns something in the arts it is not an intellectual learning but the development of Neural Pathways in the brain the enable mind body coordination to achieve an artistic activity whether it be in the realm of drawing, painting, singing, martial arts or the art of computer programming. This evolution is accomplished by repeating the activity in the correct manner till the mental faculties and neural pathways are developed and the person thus advances to a higher level. This type of training necessarily takes time. Also the degree of learning depends upon the capacity of the trainee. Children have very high facility to learn. Therefore proper artistic training can be most fruitful for children.

When art is about the development of mental faculties, then it proceeds along different lines than art classes which are purely for recreation or superficial learning. The goal of the art class is to launch the child on a lifelong process of art trainig which is an invaluable treasure for the person. We believe that every person should practice an art and a sport in addition to whatever else they do in life. It is good for their physical, emotional and spiritual health and evolution.

An equally important aspect of arts training is creativity and fun specially for children. Children are best suited to learn the arts, because their brain is most open to instruction and evolution, however the paradox is that if children do not find the arts fun and inspiring then they dont do them, and hence miss out on all the possibilities. Therefore we believe that the training process must be inspirational for the children and they must enjoy the process of training. Therefore play and the encouragement of creativity are the second pillar of our art teaching philosophy. Only if the children enjoy practicing the arts can they continue to make them a part of their lifestyle, which is the way to develop mental faculties and grow in the art form.

At Supersamsara we place equal emphasis on classical training with a view to develop core mental faculties that will form a core base for the child to develop in the arts over their lifetime and the encouragement of creativity and fun in the practice of arts.

An art and a sport that one is good at, are a tremendous wealth in this lifetime. If some one can draw and paint well, or sing well and at the same time are good at a sport, these activities in combination result in great healthfulness of body and mind, and are a source of tremendous joy. Further they provide a respite from stress and form a counter balance that refresh the body and mind, when one is engrossed in academic and professional activities in their life. A very good way to become good is to start the proper training at a young age in an inspiring fun way that is tailor made for children. This is what we offer at Supersamsara.
